Did you know

We Love a Good Feast (and Fast!)?
The Episcopal Church follows a liturgical calendar full of feast days—special celebrations of saints and important events in the life of Jesus. But we also observe fasts, like Lent, when we prepare our hearts through prayer and self-reflection. This rhythm of feasting and fasting helps us remember that the Christian life is both celebration and contemplation (see the Book of Common Prayer, pp. 15–33).

We're Part of a Global Family?
While The Episcopal Church has its roots in the United States, it's actually part of the worldwide Anglican Communion—the third-largest group of Christians in the world! Our church includes dioceses not only in the U.S., but also in countries like Taiwan, Honduras, and Haiti (The Episcopal Church, "About Us").

We Sing Our Faith?
Episcopalians are known for their love of singing, and our hymnal—The Hymnal 1982—contains everything from ancient chants to spirituals and contemporary hymns. Fun fact: Hymn 400, "All Creatures of Our God and King," is often sung with great gusto and is a favorite at many churches!

Spooky Coffee Hour and Trunk-or-Treat!

Get ready for some spooktacular fun this Sunday! Following our morning worship service, we're combining our usual Coffee Hour with a special Halloween Trunk-or-Treat celebration! Come join us for Sweet Treats and Hot Drinks, Trunk-or-Treat: Step outside and tour our parking lot, which will be transformed with decorated cars ready to hand out candy to all the kids (and kids at heart!). It's the perfect way to share some festive joy, show off your (kid's) costumes, and connect with your church family. See you Sunday for fellowship, coffee, and a little Halloween magic!

All Saints Necrology

During the All Saints service on November 2, we will offer prayers for those who have died in the past year (October 2024 - October 2025). Please submit the names of your loved ones to the parish office by Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

We pray for the repose of the souls of The Most Rev. Drexel Gomez, Elliott Carter, and all the faithful departed. May their souls rest in peace.

We pray for all the frontline and essential workers in our parish, and around S.I. and the world.

We pray for the hundreds of asylum seekers in New York City, particularly on Staten Island, and ask God's Holy Spirit to help us as citizens, civic organizations, and religious institutions respond with love and compassion.

We pray for comfort to the families and communities impacted by gun violence, and for the will and determination to enact appropriate gun control legislation and promote a culture of safety.

We pray for an end to armed conflict and lift up the people of Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Russia, and Sudan in the hope that they can move towards peace and diplomacy.

We pray for all those negatively affected by climate, environmental, and natural disasters.

We pray for those who are suffering from the impacts of systemic racism, and for those who are committed and working towards change, unity, and equality for all peoples.

We pray for all those who have started a new academic year.
